Queen’s Crown (Strongest Overall Engine)

Awarded to the team whose engine that has the highest ELO rating at the end of the hackathon.

Rook’s Rampage (King of the Hill)

Awarded to the team whose engine holds the top ELO spot for the longest period of time during the hackathon.

Bishop’s Gambit (First to beat Waterloo’s strongest chess player)

Awarded to the first team whose engine beats Waterloo’s strongest chess player. Each team gets one submission to this track. Your engine will be matched against one or more human players or increasing strength. If your engine beats the strongest human player (~2200 FIDE rating), you win this track.

Knight’s Edge (Best mini model)

Awarded to the strongest model whose size is less than 10MB. The size is computed as the total amount of RAM & VRAM used by the model. Note: The requirement for this track is subject to change up until the start of the hackathon.

Pawn’s Rebellion (First to beat our baseline model)

As the organizers, we will throw in a few of our own models into the matchmaking system. The first team to cross the ELO of all our models wins this track. A team can win any number of prizes. Each prize only has one winner. The award for winning any prize track is $1000 for the team!
