# Safety

### **Food and Water**

We strive to ensure **all hackers are well-fed and energized** throughout their journey! Every meal served at ChessHacks will include **dietary-restriction-friendly options**. For hydration, we’ll be providing beverages, and we recommend that you use the water fountains stationed around E7 as well. If you have any allergies **please inform an organizer/volunteer** when you redeem your food. A list of foods and their common dietary restrictions can be found on the [Food](./food) page.

Make sure to bring a reusable water bottle! Note that we will not be providing single-use plastic water bottles due to venue restrictions.

### Waiver

All participants signed a waiver when they RSVP'ed to attend ChessHacks.

### Emergencies

In case of an emergency, call **911 first**. Then, when it is safe to do so, contact the nearest ChessHacks team member or volunteer. If no team members are in sight, UWaterloo Campus Police can be reached at `519-888-4911`. Violence will not be tolerated, as well verbal or physical harassment. If any of these happen to occur, be sure to notify a team member. In the event of a fire alarm, please evacuate through the nearest available exit.
