# Preparation

> How you should prepare for ChessHacks

To make the most of your experience at ChessHacks, we recommend that you bring:

* A laptop with charger
* Photo ID (required for checking in!)
  * Watcard is acceptable
  * Non Waterloo students must bring valid government-issued photo ID
* Extra clothes
* Toiletries
* DEODORANT!!!
* anything else that you need to be comfortable

There are plenty of outlets around the Ideas Clinic. There will also be plenty of chess pieces and boards available for you to use.
